Reading perhaps isn't traditionally known for its culture or its food, but with some local entrepreneurs and professional musicians taking action, it's certainly heading in that direction. Local foodies @PopUpReading are passionate about sharing great food from many different cultures, as well as providing amazing bread. After the success of An Evening of Opera in July, the next event coming to Reading is A French Affair on Nov 12th, with French influenced opera, as well as French and North African mezze by our friends @PopUpReading, French wine by the Tasting House and coffee by our local coffee gurus Tamp Culture Coffee. As well as offering some top quality professional Opera, this will be a collaboration of some of Reading's finest purveyors of food, music, wine and coffee - all at an incredible local venue St Laurence Church. At a time when the Vibrant Economy is hot off the press, as well as the Reading 2050 vision, it felt fitting to associate this exciting cultural movement with Reading's promising future.
Reading and the Thames Valley are vibrant places with a lot of untapped potential. There are efficient transport links, a thriving business community, a world-renowned university and several hubs for innovation and creativity. Imagine what could happen if we enhanced Reading’s opportunities to improve connectivity.
